Breathwork Part 2 of 2: Where to Start?

​Building off last weeks blog article of why breathwork and the benefits. Here we discuss where to start in developing the practice and what to consider. Please find 4 considerations for breathwork below:

  1. Start Small: With any new habit and practice it can be helpful to start small and build the momentum, for more information on establishing new habits check out my blog article here.
  2. Consistency: It is important to use a breathing tool on a regular basis even when you do not need it. There are benefits to deep breathing even when we are not stressed or anxious. In addition, the more we engage in a breathing tool the more neural wiring happens in our mind and body to help us remember it when we need it the most.
  3. Finding the Breathwork Tool Right for You: There is a lot of information out there about breathwork. This article by Scientific American delves into explaining the power of the breath, and six techniques to consider.
  4. Breath with Yoga & Meditation: Breath coupled with yoga and/or meditation can be beneficial for mind and body. The Yoga Journal is a great resource of information for both, and this article touches on 3 breathing techniques.
