Yoga and meditation are powerful methods of healing. Over the years I have had my own personal experience in the healing benefits of yoga and meditation. With my journey, I embarked on Yoga Teacher training last year and completed my 200 hour certification in March. I felt called to do this training for many reasons including wanting to know more to be able to integrate it in meaningful ways into the work I am doing with clients.

Over the years I have seen countless times how yoga has improved a client’s life, and the multiple research studies I have read over the years citing the impacts of yoga on reducing anxiety, depression in PTSD symptoms. For meditation I have incorporated this into the work I do with clients, either developing personalized meditations or guiding them to specific meditations based on what they need support around. Recently, I have started to develop meditation for people to purchase through my website. Find below more information about ways to start integrating yoga and meditation.
  1. Yoga. There are various types of yoga that exists, and finding the right supports can be important. For those completely new to yoga in can be beneficial to find a yoga class near you to based on your level, it is important to get guidance when you are building a new skill to set you up for success and get the proper support including “verbal cueing” which is pointers a yoga instructor provides to ensure you are getting the most out of a yoga pose based on your physical make up.
  2. Meditation. There are millions of guided meditations that exist in our world on various different platforms. There are also numerous ways someone can integrate meditation in their everyday life including going for a walk in an engaging and mindful way, doing yoga which is more a body awareness meditation, and simply noticing movement in nature around you. Some people can become easily discouraged when they first start meditating as the options are overwhelming, they don’t know where to start, they may try meditating without a guided meditation, or they attempt meditations that are too long for them at their particular level. It is important to have guidance around this to help set you up for success and build upon your meditation capacities. If you would like to try one of the meditations I recorded click here to access https://www.mindfulhealingjourney.ca/in-your-pocket.html#/ If you want guidance or support in building your meditation capacities feel free to reach out or book an initial consult directly though  https://oab.owlpractice.ca/mindfulhealingjourney/booking

I have been working with parents for over 10 years. I have learned a great deal from them as well as from parenting my own children. It has taught me that parenting is the most trying job there is, requires the support of a village, and with the right supports can be truly rewarding.
